How do you figure that? It was installed via the Hackintosh ISO, put into VMWare just to have the least compatibility options (since it likely wouldn't like my hardware setup).

Point is: Mac OS installed on a non-Mac PC. What's not Hackintosh about that?

Running OSX in a VM (and not even correctly at that) is not a 'Hackintosh'- not even close.

I have been using my LT2104 as my primary computer, over two months. You get what you pay for but once in a while a great value floats to the surface and this Gateway proves it. The audio is pretty bad and as noted by other reviewers the little jewel hardly features leading edge performance but if you can hook one for less than $350 its a steal for rudimentary applications...email, surfing the net, amazon-shopping. Excellent wireless performance and good battery life (getting around 5-6 hours). I still hate Microsoft but Windows-7 doesn't suck too bad so the whole purchase has been positive. Strongly recommended. Volkan Akkurt.

There is one peroblem/question I have: I have not been able to disable the pop up for the video web menu bar. I can move it to top, left or right and each time I move the cursor to that area, it pops us. How can I get eliminate this?

Windows 7 Starter does not include:

    * Aero Glass, meaning you can only use the Windows Basic or other opaque themes. It also means you do not get Taskbar Previews or Aero Peek.
    * Personalization features for changing desktop backgrounds, window colors, or sound schemes.
    * The ability to switch between users without having to log off.
    * 64 bit version
    * Multi-monitor support.
    * DVD playback.
    * Windows Media Center for watching recorded TV or other media.
    * Remote Media Streaming for streaming your music, videos, and recorded TV from your home computer.
    * Domain support for business customers.
    * XP Mode for those that want the ability to run older Windows XP programs on Windows 7.
    * Hard-coded limitation on how many foreground apps can be run at one time.

Starter is a complete disgrace to computer operating systems and XP has more/better features then the crippled Windows 7 Starter. OEM's are putting Starter on all their netbooks because it reduces their cost. Some people think it's because netbooks can't handle higher editions - that is not true, if it can run Starter it can run Ultimate (although some can't do all the features, like Aero).

Don't know what all the whining is about. Win7 starter is fine- works fine- no probs or limitations at all. There are tiny free apps to change wallpaper. weak ass post- esp as your biggest, err ONLY gripe is frigging wallpaper. Maybe Win7 pro 64bit and others work faster but for $269 I am perfectly satisfied with W7 starter.

If memory serves correctly, I actually went to Intel's web site and ran the detection tool. There are actually a few, so if one fails you, try the next. Sadly, this must be done in Internet Explorer. Be sure to allow ActiveX controls!

I actually went back and didn't try XP. I just installed Win 7 Pro 64-bit (yes, it IS a 64-bit processor), and for a netbook, it works like a dream. I've streamed videos over my network WITHOUT the processor struggling to keep up with displaying them, and I've used it as a game server for an FPS. That only idles it at 50% or so, which is VERY GOOD for a single core processor at merely 1.6 GHZ (It is dual threaded, which helps a little, but not near as much as if it were dual core) I've personally never experienced it running slow, and everything works fine under 64-bit. Windows update can track down all of the correct drivers except for the card reader, but those drivers aren't hard at all to find.

Ouch, well, I'm sorry but I don't have this netbook any more. I got tired of the laggy Atom CPU which had no excuse for being as slow as it was to scroll down a web page no matter what OS I was running. I sold it, and bought an iPad. Totally worth it.
