Yes, I have actually enjoyed WoW lately… here’s why

The latest reason is simply that I’ve been enjoying playing my druid. I finally figured out how to properly spec and play a feral druid, and due to being dual spec, it’s basically opened up my ability to Tank, DPS, and Heal, all on the same character, with just a couple mouse clicks to switch between roles. Here I am as a cat, enjoying a sunset zeppelin ride dropping bombs on pirates. Yes it’s as fun as it sounds.
I made the adjustment to being a bear tank just fine, actually. And these are my stats wearing crappy-ass level 57-60 gear at level 71. People said I was the best bear tank they ever saw. Bricks were shat once I informed them I had never done it before, and this was in fact my first time. Never lost aggro, once. Barely took any damage. I could get used to this.
Note: I did have a couple of level-appropriate pieces, but they were crappy green items.
I’ve been doing my “random dungeon” runs religiously, and I just finished a group where I was informed that I was one of the best healers he ever had. Yep, level 60 gear, at level 72. And I spent the first half of the instance completely forgetting to go into my tree (healing) form. Oops. Still rocked em. Full mana the whole run, nobody died once. Even the overzealous pally who was trying to get himself killed, but couldn’t, even when he purposely aggroed the whole room… kept his dumb ass alive. Kudos for me!
I even found time to crack jokes in between!
And to answer the questions of friends who do not play but are on the fence regarding certain information:

Mac vs. PC

Am I the only one getting annoyed by all these Mac ads lately?
I’m not annoyed because I am a Windows user. I’m not annoyed because I am an “anything” user. I’m annoyed because they are very misrepresenting.
Allow me to explain before you get all pissy with me…
The first point I want to make is about Apple’s claim that Macs are more secure. This is a FALSE STATEMENT!
The simple truth is, viruses are written for a target operating system because it is popular. Yes, most of these are targeted at Windows. But if the entire world were to switch en masse to Apple computers, who do you think hackers would target? Ding! It’s like putting a bullseye on yourself. Hack me, I dare you.
Simply switching to a Mac does not protect you. It is your responsibility, as the user, to not be a fucking retard.
Use antivirus software. Update it. Scan downloads. Don’t execute questionable content. DON’T USE INTERNET EXPLORER!
Seriously people, it’s almost 2010 and you haven’t learned yet?
Viruses spread by people being ignorant.
Most of them require some kind of user interaction to propagate.
Don’t be a noob.
A second point to make is that Macs are very expensive, in most cases, prohibitively so.
Macs with respectable specifications can cost 5+ times the cost of a PC with comparable specs, and the PC usually ends up being even cheaper than that if you custom build it from your own parts.
Good luck even trying to do that with a Mac.
Want to upgrade your hardware?
If you’ve got a Mac, it ain’t happening, at least not for a reasonable price. Hardly any of the hardware you can go out to your local computer shop or electronics store will work on it. And if it does work, you better believe you will have one hell of a headache making it work.
Macs claim to be more user-friendly, while also substantiating the claim that Windows 7 PC’s are complex and expensive. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
A Windows user will have a pretty hard time making the switch to a Mac. I know because I have tried. I used to say that the only thing Apple had going for them was a much prettier interface, but with the release of Windows Vista and 7, that gap is being quickly narrowed.
Windows now makes much better use of resources, and supports more hardware than ever thought before.
Like Gaming? Not likely to happen with your Mac, seeing as how most computer games are made for Windows. Even if you do have the rare game that will work on a Mac, you’re still in for a rough time. Take a look at the system requirements for each OS.
The Mac requirements for hardware are almost always DOUBLE the requirements over Windows. This is the drawback to the pretty OS that Apple provided you. Your OS uses ALL your resources. Which is fine if all you intend on doing is looking at your desktop, but some of us actually use our computers for work, or the internet, or gaming even. When we do, we like to have that hardware available to us.
Do you really want to spend 5 times as much to get less?
Be realistic. All that nonconformist talk goes out the window as soon as you can’t run the software or hardware you really need.
Anything that is on a Mac can work on Windows. The Windows stuff will NOT work on a Mac. Make the right choice.
Patch Day
May 13th
So yeah, I’m basically bored right now, just waiting until I can go pick up Ashley from school, but I’ve still got a few hours of waiting before I can do that. I can’t even play WoW to pass the time for now because it’s Tuesday, it’s patch day (patch 2.4.2) and the servers are offline until… well, until time for me to leave.
I got home from work yesterday at around 9am, slept until about 8pm, played WoW until about 1:30am and then fell asleep again until about 8:30am this morning, and I’ve been up ever since then. I went to eat breakfast and McDonalds, and somehow, it was fucking delicious! It was the greasiest bacon egg and cheese biscuit and hash browns I have ever had, but DAMN did it taste good! Mostly I was just thirsty since when I did wake up it was so fucking hot in my room I was drenched in sweat and had a dry mouth from dehydration due to the heat. It’s summer, and for some reason my grandmother sees fit to turn on the fucking HEAT every morning noon and night. She must be getting senile.
Not a whole lot to blog about really. I added some humorous images to the sidebar on the blog, some of which actually link to respective pages. I also took the liberty of adding some to Ashley’s blog, and I’m sure she’ll like my choices for her 
Mostly, I’ve just been working and passing the time by playing WoW. I don’t quite work full time any more, so I have to spend most of my time at home to save money, especially since gas is getting so expensive. I just can’t afford to really go anywhere.
On the plus side I finally feel like I’m getting ridiculously overpowered in game, and my arena records are starting to speak for themselves. Of course that’s only going to lead to me being even more powerful, and so on.
So we’ve got wildfires burning in Daytona again. I wonder if we’ll have a repeat of the fires from back in ’98 or not. Looks like everything is just catching on fire now. It’s kind of getting to the point where we REALLY need rain now. I barely remember what it’s like to have a torrential downpour. And this is Florida, for fucks sake. This is getting kind of retarded. And it’s SO HOT. This is only amplified by the fact my car has no air conditioning. Yet another thing for me to try to save up money for.
Well, that’s pretty much it for now. I’m gonna go stumble around the net for a bit and see if I can find something to eat up my time until I get to leave.

Yeah, so I’m basically fuckin bored right now. I’m probably going to resort to playing some good old fashioned Super Smash Bros. I just finished playing Starfox 64, which I beat, despite it being infinitely difficult toward the end. I seriously don’t remember the game being that damn hard!
I was playing WoW earlier but I got bored of that. Horde are douche bags in PvP, and it seems the Alliance doesn’t know how to play at all, so I end up getting gang-raped by about 30 other players at once while the guys on my team just stand there looking like retards. I really don’t see the skill in ganging up on people. Not like they need to, since Blizzard clearly favors the Horde anyway, and they are far more overpowered than we could ever hope to be. And we just keep getting the shaft.
I remember a day when Warlocks were OP, and nobody could beat them. Then things got balanced out a bit. Now we get owned hardcore. Or at least I do. I never seem to stand a chance, and I’m a good player, in very good gear. I just don’t get it when I’m supposed to be “overpowered” and I get two-shotted by a Horde player… it’s kind of a kick in the nuts.
The server I play on is over 70% Horde. That’s right, 70%. That means 30% of the server belongs to the rest of us. Most of that 70% of horde are level 70 players, most of them in t5 or t6 pvp gear, and they have nothing better to do all day than hang out in low level quest areas and kill lower level players and camp out on their corpses so they can’t play their game.
Now I understand, people, that we decided consciously to make characters on a pvp server, and we knew what would happen, and we have to live with that. But it doesn’t stop me from making the assertion that not only are the Horde douchebags… but Blizzard is just making them bigger douchebags by giving them so much power. I know they favor them. But the fact remains is that most players that play this game play on the Alliance side. That means that the majority of us, PAYING customers, are getting fucked in the ass in-game.
Is it fair? Of course not. Should they be getting buffs because there are less of them? Not as long as we have to accept them camping low level players. If we have to deal with it, then nerf em to hell and let them deal with it. I don’t mean make them weak. I mean make it “balanced”. Take away racial benefits that are overpowered for PvP and give them something more pve oriented.
The problem with this game is, and it is evident through recent patches, is that the entire game is now PvP and arena-oriented. Not everyone likes Arena, and battlegrounds aren’t for everyone. I love to pvp but I hate Arenas because I am always the first to die before I even get to do anything. The entire force of the other team decides that I need to die first. Am I that dangerous? Not with all the nerfs to fear. Fear only works about 25% of the time now, and always breaks early. Warriors get immunity. Undead get immunity. What do I get immunity to? Oh, right… nothing. I have to rely on SKILL, not gear or racial traits to survive. And when I do, I hope it bruises their egos terribly. And I DO win from time to time.
Blizzard, if you’re gonna bitch about balance, then balance the fucking game. Stop nerfing players and taking away their abilities. Just give buffs to those that need them and stop screwing around with our survivability, especially when it affects our pve game.
I’m also pissed off that the newest patch literally broke the addons I rely on the most to help me level. I’ve lost most of my desire to do any quests now, or do much of anything. What’s worse is that the most important addon in my arsenal, QuestHelper, is no longer in development, so it will never be fixed…
Yeah yeah, I can QQ (it means “cry”) all I want, but nothing is going to change. They will continue to fuck over the Alliance until one day I decide to say fuck this game and move on to something else. I guess when that happens I’ll eBay my account for some decent cash. Who wouldn’t want a couple of nicely geared level 70 characters? (soon…)
So fuck it. I’m going back to the old school. Nintendo.
